The mant scouts and animals generally kill off all goblins, leaving their weapons and armor, each wave increasing your worth. Even if you wall in, and the map starts filling up with dead goblins, their weapons and armor worth will start adding up.
The problem with mants it seems is hard to avoid, since every item on the map is part of your stock.
